I dedicate this project to all survivors of sexual violence, and to all the smart and resilient feminist activists who keep dissent alive, and are not afraid to “transform silence into language and action" (Audre Lorde).

Many thanks to the feminist activists, survivors, faculty, reporters, alumni, etc., who have done an immense amount of labor required to leave documentation that allowed me to follow and compile a counter-(her)story. Special thanks to those who trusted and spoke to me personally, passing along oral histories that were critical in constructing this project.

Special thanks to my advisor, Professor Theresa Geller, who, with her expansive knowledge of feminist theory, film, and activism, has mentored me in establishing the political grounds of this project. Professor Geller is the only member of Faculty Against Rape (FAR) at Grinnell College. She has played a major role in founding Dissenting Voices, as well as other feminist groups on campus, such as the Ana-Cha Feminist Art Collective.
